Turkeyfoot Cowboys Season Award Policy Membership To qualify for any award, an individual must be member in good standing. Category Placement Awards We will give awards for each SASS Category in which we had one or more club members who shot at least 4 monthly matches in that category (The SASS Iowa State Championship does not count as a monthly match). Those who qualify for placement will be ranked according to their best four finishes in their category. Hypothetical Example: Smokey shot 7 matches in Frontier Cartridge category. His finishes at each match were as follows:
The
4 best finishes would be March (1st), May (1st), June (2nd), September
(2nd). These would be added up (1+1+2+2) to equal a total of 6.
Smokey’s total rank score for the season would be 6. All the other
cowboys who shot in his category would be scored the same way. The
lowest rank score would be first place for the season in that category,
next lowest would be second, etc. Note: Ties will be broken by comparing the ranking of the tied shooters where they attended the same match. Wooden plaques will be awarded the first three places in each category and certificates for other placements. Dead Eye Awards Cowboy Shooting isn't all about shooting fast. So, we want to honor those who have clean shoots during the season. Therefore we will present a certificate to each shooter who accomplishes the feat of shooting a clean match. The certificate will state the number of clean matches he or she had that season. It is not necessary to attend 4 or more matches to receive this award. Note:
Procedure penalties are counted as errors and disqualify the shooter
from a clean shoot. However, If bonuses are written into a stage
and the total bonus time is equal to or greater than the total misses
on that stage, that stage will be considered clean and can be
counted toward the Dead Eye Award. Attendance Awards Neither is cowboy shooting all about shooting fast or accurately. It is also about the pure fun of shooting! Therefore, we will present special Attendance Certificates to those who attend the most matches in the season. 1) a "All Eight Certificate" to all who attend all eight monthly matches, and 2) a "Super Seven Certificate" to all who attend seven of the eight matches. 3) “Six Shooter Certificate” for those who attend 6 of the eight matches. Top Gun Awards Each shooter who wins first in his or her category and has at least 1 clean match in the season will receive a Top Gun Award.
